Move Report’s Lee Hickmans is preparing to take on the grueling Manchester Marathon for the third time to raise money for a charity close to his heart.

Customer Success Manager Lee will be amongst 36,000 people running 26.2 miles around Manchester on April 27.

Lee is raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital as he is a long-time admirer of its work.

He said: “It’s a fantastic hospital that does incredible work for children and families during the toughest times. Fundraising for them feels like a really meaningful way to give back.

“I’m hoping to break through £1,000 and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s donated so far. Every little really does help.”

Lee achieved a time of 4.35:36 in his first Manchester Marathon and 4.33:59 in 2024. This year he is hoping to achieve sub-4.00 for the first time.

“I have been training hard and I’m on track for 4.15, so I just need to shave a bit more off,” said the 32-year-old.

“I have been running three times a week before work and then going out on Sunday for long runs. I hit 20 miles the other day so the hard miles are done and it’s time to start tapering off.

“I began running six years ago just as a way to get out of the house and I really got into it.

“The dream is to go on to complete marathons in London, Boston and Berlin, but Manchester is great.”
